Our Mission

The Ministry of Westmoreland Baptist Church can be summed up in saying we seek to fulfill the“Great Commission” - Matthew 28:18-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” and the “Great Commandments” - Matthew 22:37-40 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

We have taken those two broad teachings of our Lord and set our focus as a threefold purpose – to Magnify God… Make Disciples…and Minister to People. The Venn Diagram we use with the three overlapping circles is designed to remind us that each of these activities are interlinked with the others.

MAGNIFY GOD.

Matthew 5:16 | "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

MINISTER TO PEOPLE.

Matthew 25:37-40 | "Then the righteous will answer him saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'"

MAKE DISCIPLES.

2 Timothy 2:2 | "and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
